Ditch Your Razor for Laser with Forever Bare BBL™

Can you imagine having soft, smooth, hair-free skin all year round without having to shave every day? The average woman spends almost 72 days of her life shaving her legs. We don’t know about you, but we think we can find better things to do with that time! Shaving doesn’t just steal hours of your life; its cost adds up as well. The average pack of women’s razors with multiple blades and hydrating strips now costs upwards of $20. If you’re ready to save time and money in your quest for silky soft, hair-free skin, then it’s time to ditch your razor for laser.

Laser Hair Reduction has consistently ranked in the top five of the most requested non-invasive cosmetic treatments for decades. Millions of procedures have safely been performed on both women and men. It’s no wonder – check out these benefits of Laser Hair Reduction:

  • May achieve up to 95% permanent reduction in hair regrowth

  • Saves time and money over the long run

  • Boosts confidence

  • Can control excessive hair growth that results from medical conditions or medications

  • Decrease the frequency of ingrown hairs and razor burn

  • Is convenient and allows you to enjoy smooth, hair-free skin all year round!

How does Laser Hair Reduction work?

Laser Hair Reduction harnesses the power of specific wavelengths of light that are attracted to the pigment of hair follicles. The dark pigment inside hair follicles absorbs the energy from the laser light, which damages the follicle and hinders its ability to regrow effectively. With continued treatment, follicles continue to lose more and more of their ability to regrow until the majority are destroyed, and the regrowth of hair is permanently reduced.

It’s important to note that because laser hair removal lasers are attracted to the pigment in a hair follicle, treating darker skin types and tanned skin is sometimes not advised. This is because the laser may mistake the pigment in your skin for the pigment in your hair follicle and target your skin, causing a burn. Laser Hair Reduction is also not effective on blonde, grey, or translucent hair unless it has dark pigmentation at its base.

Who are the best candidates for Laser Hair Reduction?

Because the wavelengths of light used in Laser Hair Reduction are attracted to the pigment in hair, the best candidates for this form of hair removal are those with dark hair and lighter skin. On darker skin types, the laser cannot differentiate between the hair’s pigment and the skin’s pigment as a target and, as a result, may damage the skin. Tanned skin can also present a challenge for Laser Hair Reduction for the same reason, and tanning indoors or outdoors is not advised when undergoing Laser Hair Reduction treatments.

Your Harmony Wellness Certified Laser Technician will help you determine if you are a good candidate for Laser Hair Reduction after your complimentary consultation.

What laser does Harmony Wellness use for Laser Hair Reduction?

At Harmony Wellness, our Certified Laser Technicians use Forever Bare BBL™ in our Laser Hair Reduction treatments. This technology is much more comfortable, faster, and safer than many other lasers because it stays in motion while treating the skin instead of pulsing one area at a time. This motion allows your provider to cover larger surface areas more effectively and ensures an almost pain-free treatment!

What downtime is associated with Laser Hair Reduction?

Immediately following your Laser Hair Reduction treatment, it is typical for the treatment area to be slightly red, tender, and swollen for up to 48 hours. You must protect the treated area with an SPF 30 to prevent pigment damage (hyperpigmentation) that may result from sun exposure. Over the next 10-14 days, you’ll experience a “shedding” of the treated hair. Treated follicles will fall out as the next stage of hair growth comes in. With each treatment, you’ll experience less and less regrowth.

What are results can I expect with Laser Hair Reduction?

Multiple treatments are needed to achieve significant reduction and clearance with Laser Hair Reduction. Why? The hair on each area of our bodies has three hair growth cycles. The catagen cycle is when hair cells replicate within the follicle. The anagen cycle is when hair is actively growing. The telogen cycle is when hair lies dormant. Because a laser can only effectively treat your anagen or “active” growth phase, you will need to return for multiple treatments to catch that interval of hair growth. Depending on what area of the body you are treating, this may be every 4-8 weeks. After each treatment, you’ll notice the regrowth of your hair decreases significantly and that the hair that does come back is less thick and even softer.

Once you have achieved a clearance in your hair growth that you are happy with, anticipate 1-2 treatments each year after that to maintain your results.

How many Laser Hair Reduction treatments will I need?

Harmony Wellness recommends starting with a package of six treatments to achieve above 90% reduction in your hair growth. But, how many treatments you need really depends on you, your genetics, your expectations, and your hair! Anticipate at least six treatments for each new area of the body and an annual maintenance treatment each year to ensure soft, smooth, and hair-free skin all year round!
